Starting your youngster early in martial arts has many advantages. Basic tae kwon do forms and movements teach fine motor skills, memory, and strength-building. Your child will also learn self-confidence and hone his/her interpersonal skills in a structured activity environment. We'll demonstrate and teach respect, self-discipline, and goal-directed behavior. Best of all, your child won't even realize they are learning all of this, because they'll be having so much fun!
Juniors tae kwon do moves from the basic kicking and punching content into more advanced techniques. This class will include jumping and spinning kicks, board-breaking, and sparring. Your child will learn self-confidence as they progress through form practice and into actual competitive sparring in class. This is a high energy sport that will develop flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness.
Seniors tae kwon do surpasses all of the movements in the Juniors class while recognizing the importance of flexibility and cardio workouts to our mature students. Many of our students have been assisted in their weight loss efforts through the incorporation of these high energy workouts. Classes include form practice, kicking techniques, board breaking, and sparring.
Our Juniors judo class will help your child develop balance, speed, and agility, as well as the ability to fall without injury. Mentally, the class encourages self-disclipline, respect, and good sportsmanship. We work with our Juniors extensively in basic throwing movements, grappling, and pinning techniques that will provide a solid foundation as they grow and mature in the art.
Our Seniors judo classes builds upon the basic foundational movements. Seniors learn advanced throwing, grappling, pinning, joint locking, and choking techniques. We spend the beginning of our classes stretching and performing calisthenics, then follow up with physical conditioning. Judo movements will help you develop solid core muscles in the lower back, hips, and abdomen.
